Cambray Consulting

ABOUT

Cambray Consulting was established to provide a service tailored to meet the needs of transport agencies and government, and the development industry. It builds on the experience gained whilst fulfilling senior roles with a leading global consulting firm and former government positions.

Our team has the experience to provide a wide range of expert input into all manner of road, public transport, and walk and cycle plans and projects. In addition, our team members have been involved in an impressive list of planning studies and transport infrastructure and development projects, ranging across all sectors and all scales.  We pride ourselves on our ability to be more hands-on than other firms when it comes to resolving the traffic elements of a development layout, and aim to be more proactive in providing timely advice, to ensure vital timeframes are met.  We are consistently identifying innovative solutions to complex problems, and we don’t accept mediocrity or substandard arrangements for our clients.

Cambray provides strategic and detailed traffic advice which assists in achieving desired outcomes for clients.  Our goal is to identify and resolve issues up front, rather than deferring issues to the detailed design stage.  We work on the belief that the work of a successful traffic engineer should be subtle, such as our work at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, or it should contribute strongly to a positive overall experience, such as in the Millennium Arts Precinct or the Southbank TAFE Redevelopment.

We pride ourselves on our local knowledge, holistic approach to projects, and  focus on the needs of both our client and the community.  We strive to challenge the boundaries whilst ensuring our paramount responsibility is to the safe and efficient transport of people and goods.

Philosophy

The Cambray Philosophy is simple in its essence:

  • Seek to understand our client’s needs;

  • Seek to understand the community needs;

  • Seek to understand a project from multiple perspectives;

  • Seek win-win outcomes; and

  • Seek to deal respectfully and passionately with all people.

The vast majority of our clients are long-term, repeat clients, which demonstrates our desire to understand their businesses and how we may better assist them, and their community.

Value Creation

We seek to create value for our clients, and the broader community. We aim to reduce unnecessary costs whilst seeking to maintain or enhance the safety and efficiency of transport system for users - a balance that can sometimes be difficult to achieve due to differing expectations, roles, and legislation.

We call on our collective experience in the transport consulting industry, our understanding of the process of negotiation and our ability to find innovative, cost-effective outcomes.  Our ability to distill and articulate potential solutions is where we believe we assist most to create value at a project level; as well as on a whole-of-life, whole-of-community basis.
