In November 2008 Andrew Douglas established Cambray Consulting to provide tailored traffic advice to meet the needs of the development industry, local government and state government agencies.
The company has established itself as one of Queensland’s leading independent traffic engineering and transport planning consultancies. This reputation is built on our commitment to our clients, quality work, collaborative approach and innovation.
Innovation can be difficult to define, and is often the result of a collaborative process. The following projects provide an insight into the innovations contributed to by team members:
Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC)
The BCEC was the subject of a competitive tender process. One of the reasons cited in selecting the preferred bid was the extreme efficiency of the carpark .
An innovative approach to the carpark layout, entry and exit arrangements, finely tuned with the structural engineers Arup and the architects Cox Rayner, saved half a carpark level across the entire site. This reduced the overall building cost significantly without impacting on the carpark operations.
If you would like to see if such innovation can be applied to your next project, let us know.
South East Busway
A consultancy role providing a high-level review soon after the South East Busway Project was committed, identified a number of planning, design and operational factors that had the potential to significantly undermine the potential of the South East Busway.
An innovative approach that stepped outside the brief successfully averted the South East Busway being a “white elephant” and instead initiated a collaborative approach with GHD and Davidson Consulting that found solutions and averted a potential poor outcome.
Ipswich Motorway Safelink
Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort
Airport Link - Airport Roundabout
Cambray Consulting has attracted a team of talented and experienced traffic engineers and transport planners with a breadth and depth of experience on a wide range of projects.
