WHAT A YEAR!

The word “unprecedented” has certainly been used an unprecedented number of times this year. We are very fortunate to be living and working in one of the safest states in one of the safest countries through the COVID pandemic. This has allowed us to support our clients and collaborators throughout, and in return to keep our team actively employed thanks to everyone’s fantastic support. A true team effort and a great demonstration of what can be achieved when we all play our role! We know this year has placed additional hurdles in everyone’s lives, separating you from loved ones, missing out on or deferring key events and limiting your mobility to closer to home. We feel for everyone doing it tough, whether overseas battling the pandemic, here at home battling to return to “normal”, and school leavers and graduates seeking that elusive first job in their chosen career. We also remember that there are a large number of people still doing it tough after the unprecedented drought and unprecedented bushfires (there is that word again). We have all had to make difficult decisions based on a more uncertain future. We are optimists at heart, and pragmatists at head, so we are busy planning for the worst and hoping for the best at the same time.

May Santa’s reindeers be socially distanced, May you receive no coal, May you and your loved ones be safe and happy, Whilst we all play our role.

All of us at Cambray wish you, your teams and your loved-ones a magnificent Christmas and a relaxing New Year. We look forward to catching up and doing whatever we can to assist you all next year. Thank you.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

As always, we continued to serve our regular clients who have supported us over many years, welcomed many new clients and worked on some very exciting projects.

This year we have been privileged to provide our input on nearly 200 projects, including 28 retail developments, 16 service stations, 10 residential developments, eight peer reviews, eight mixed-use developments, seven recreational developments, seven industrial developments, seven health projects, four childcare centres, four educational facilities and more than 50 Planning and Environment court matters.

Some of the projects we continued our work on included:

  • Herston Health Quarter Redevelopment

  • Brisbane South State Secondary College

  • Costco, Coomera

  • Judith Wright Centre Lighting Projection Review (Fortitude Valley)

  • North West Private Hospital

And some of this year's new projects included:

  • Redlands Coast Regional Sport and Recreation Precinct Draft Master Plan

  • Bridgidine College STEM Building Expansion

  • Ipswich Hospital Expansion

HOW WE'RE GIVING BACK

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy was established more than 10 years ago because Australia has the worst mammal extinction rate in the world, and a very high proportion of our surviving animals and plants (over 1,700 species) are listed as threatened with extinction.

Each November, Share the Dignity collects handbags filled with personal care products which are distributed as Christmas gifts through partner shelters and other charitable organisations. Partner charities give them to homeless, at-risk and women experiencing domestic violence.

WHEN YOU CAN CATCH US

Please note that the office will be closed from 5:30pm on 23 December 2020 and is reopening at 8:30am on 11 January 2021.

We're looking forward to another traffic-packed year in 2021, so don't hesitate to get in touch if you're after some traffic and transport related input on your next project.

From all of us at Cambray Consulting, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday season, and we look forward to working with you again in the New Year!
